Red Bull Racing boosted by América Móvil and INTERprotección partnerships

Red Bull Racing announced this week the signing of new sponsors América Móvil and INTERprotección into the 2021 Formula 1 season.

América Móvil, Mexican telecom giant, is the parent company of A1, Telcel, Infinitum and Claro – brands that will be present in the team’s car, driver overalls, teamwear and hospitality.

INTERprotección is a Mexican insurance company with large presence in the Latin American region, with branding being evident on the car’s headrest.

The insurers were previously sponsors of the team, signing a deal in 2018 for the US, Mexican and Brazilian Grands Prix.

América Móvil and INTERprotección are long-time supporters of Red Bull’s Sergio Pérez, who was signed at the end of last year after long weeks of rumours.

Both companies accompanied Pérez in his endeavours at Sauber, McLaren, Force India and Racing Point, exposing their brands to a global audience for a total of 10 years in Formula 1.

Despite this, signing the Mexican telecom company meant Red Bull had to make way from AT&T, which is a direct market competitor to América Móvil’s Telcel brand in Mexico.

According to a document made available by Red Bull, AT&T is expected to remain with news company subsidiary CNN also being listed in the team’s partner list.
