BWT confirmed as Aston Martin Cognizant F1 global partner

Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team has announced a new sponsorship deal with Austrian water technology specialist BWT – Best Water Technology, ahead of the team’s launch.

BWT first partnered the Silverstone-based team in 2017, when its famous pink livery first took the Formula 1 community by storm.

Over the course of 4 years, the Austrian company gradually increased its presence in the team’s branding, eventually becoming title sponsors in 2020.

BWT is famous for wanting major visual control over their associated sponsorships, which have all been prominently pink-coloured, from football to skiing to motorsport.

During the winter break, BWT were replaced by Cognizant as Aston Martin’s title sponsor.

The Austrian company were understandably not content with the team set to be moving to a British racing green identity.

Decalspotters understands BWT were potentially looking at other options, with Haas F1 and Williams Racing being named as main sponsorship contenders.

Aston Martin F1 reveals that BWT brand accents as well as BWT logos will remain a feature of the all-new car livery. The brand is expected to be prominent on the driver’s bottles as well.

The team says the brand is committed to the reduction of plastics through the adoption of reusable vessels and recyclable filters to reduce waste and pollution.

It means continuing the work from last year to cut down the use of disposable bottles at the track, minimise plastic waste and facilitate the local treatment and consumption of water. Additionally, we are looking forward to starting cooperation with more people in the F1 community who are also convinced of our mission to fight for a plastic-free planet and who are ready to spread this mission to people around the globe.”
