McLaren Racing has announced today a new multi-year partnership with Anglo-Japanese Asset Management company Buzz & Co., starting from the 2020 Formula 1 season.
Buzz & Co. began their involvement in motorsport by sponsoring Japanese drivers in the feeder series before going global in a title sponsorship deal with Carlin.
In 2019, Buzz & Co. joined Formula 1 as they signed a one-year deal with Scuderia Toro Rosso, which has Honda as their engine and driver development partner.
As part of the new partnership, the Buzz brand will be present on the inside rear-wing endplate of the McLaren MCL35 monocoque.
The deal also sees Buzz & Co’s Daisuke Hasegawa appointed as McLaren’s Consultant Senior Vice President, leading the team’s partnership development in Japan.
“This innovative new partnership with Buzz & Co will allow us to deepen our connections to businesses and fans alike in our key market of Japan. I am pleased to welcome Daisuke-san into our extended team and look forward to taking to track together this season.”Zak Brown, McLaren Racing Chief Executive Officer
